Track Commentary PA System

Santa Pod Raceway

Santa Pod Raceway is a world renowned venue in the unique field of drag racing and following considerable investment to its facilities this year, including replacing the track itself with a brand new concrete surface, the owners decided it was high time to replace the existing trackside PA system with something fit for the future and capable of offering much improved sound quality for the huge crowds that descend on this venue. Following a site survey, Focus Sound and Light drew up plans to replace the efficient but poor sounding re-entrant horn system with a wide bandwidth system from British manufacturer Void Acoustics. Void's weatherproof Cyclone series was chosen to be ideal following the design phase of the project, with multiple Cyclone 10 and Cyclone 55 enclosures being arranged in no less than 7 100V circuits with custom wound matching transformers and power delivered by Void Acoustics Bias series amplifiers which are capable of driving the 100V lines directly thanks to their high voltage output capability. The result - a transformation to the sound quality and coverage in the audience areas which make the track commentary, output from the on-site radio station and sponsors adverts sound so much better.

Freemasons Hall

Grand Temple, London

Freemasons Hall Grand Temple, LondonFollowing a request to inspect the existing public address system at this very special and unique building we were able to identify several design failings that were making the existing systems deliver poor sound in this highly reverberant space.

A new approach was called for and following a long and detailed tender process we were delighted to be asked to install a high performance system to overcome the acoustic challenges of this cavernous 1700 seater space.

Particular attention was given to minimising reflections and keeping the sound as coherent as possible by using careful placement and precise time alignment of the new loudspeakers. To minimise visual impact all loudspeaker components were custom coloured to closely match their surroundings.

Void Acoustics Arcline and Venu enclosures paired with Void Acoustics Bias series amplifiers produce a sound quality that is leaps and bounds better than the previous system and now cater for the needs of all in-house events with ease.
